Exodous 22:22 Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child.
23 If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will
surely hear their cry;
24 And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your
wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.
25 If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt
not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury.
26 If thou at all take thy neighbour's raiment to pledge, thou shalt deliver
it unto him by that the sun goeth down:
27 For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin: wherein
shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that
I will hear; for I am gracious.
Numbers 14:26 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
27 How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against
me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur
against me.
28 Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as ye have spoken
in mine ears, so will I do to you:
29 Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered
of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward
which have murmured against me.
30 Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to
make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the
son of Nun.
31 But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I bring
in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised.
32 But as for you, your carcases, they shall fall in this wilderness.
33 And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear
your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness.
34 After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty
days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years,
and ye shall know my breach of promise.
35 I the LORD have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation,
that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be
consumed, and there they shall die.
36 And the men, which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made
all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon
the land,
37 Even those men that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died
by the plague before the LORD.
Numbers 16:23 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
24 Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle
of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.
25 And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of
Israel followed him.
26 And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from
the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed
in all their sins.
27 So they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every
side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents,
and their wives, and their sons, and their little children.
28 And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the LORD hath sent me to do
all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind.
29 If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after
the visitation of all men; then the LORD hath not sent me.
30 But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow
them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into
the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD.
31 And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words,
that the ground clave asunder that was under them:
32 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses,
and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
33 They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit,
and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.
34 And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for
they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also.
35 And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred
and fifty men that offered incense.
Numbers 16:41 But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of
Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed
the people of the LORD.
42 And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moses
and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation:
and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared.
43 And Moses and Aaron came before the tabernacle of the congregation.
44 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
45 Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in
a moment. And they fell upon their faces.
46 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off
the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and
make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the
plague is begun.
47 And Aaron took as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the congregation;
and, behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on incense,
and made an atonement for the people.
48 And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.
49 Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred,
beside them that died about the matter of Korah.
50 And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tabernacle of the
congregation: and the plague was stayed.
Numbers 25:1 And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit
whoredom with the daughters of Moab.
2 And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the
people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.
3 And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was
kindled against Israel.
4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang
them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD
may be turned away from Israel.
5 And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that
were joined unto Baalpeor.
6 And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren
a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation
of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle
of the congregation.
7 And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw
it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand;
8 And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of
them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the
plague was stayed from the children of Israel.
9 And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.
10 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
11 Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned
my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake
among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.
12 Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace:
13 And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an
everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an
atonement for the children of Israel.
Deuteronomy 13:7 Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about
you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth
even unto the other end of the earth;
Deuteronomy 29:19 And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this
curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though
I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:
20 The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy
shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this
book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under
heaven.
21 And the LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel,
according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book
of the law:
22 So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after
you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they
see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD hath laid
upon it;
23 And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning,
that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the
overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew
in his anger, and in his wrath:
24 Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this
land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?
25 Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD
God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth
out of the land of Egypt:
26 For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they
knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:
27 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring upon
it all the curses that are written in this book:
28 And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and
in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.
Deuteronomy 31:16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep
with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the
gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and
will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.
17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake
them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and
many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that
day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?
18 And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they
shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.
Deuteronomy 31:29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt
yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and
evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the
sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.
Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are
judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
Deuteronomy 32:19 And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of
the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters.
20 And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end
shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no
faith.
21 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have
provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy
with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish
nation.
22 For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell,
and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations
of the mountains.
23 I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them.
24 They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and
with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them,
with the poison of serpents of the dust.
25 The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man
and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs.
26 I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance
of them to cease from among men:
27 Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries
should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is
high, and the LORD hath not done all this.
Deuteronomy 32:34 Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among
my treasures?
35 To me belongeth vengeance and recompence; their foot shall slide in due
time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall
come upon them make haste.
Judges 2:11 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD,
and served Baalim:
12 And they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them out
of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people
that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked
the LORD to anger.
13 And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.
14 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them
into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the
hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand
before their enemies.
15 Whithersoever they went out, the hand of the LORD was against them for
evil, as the LORD had said, and as the LORD had sworn unto them: and they
were greatly distressed.
16 Nevertheless the LORD raised up judges, which delivered them out of the
hand of those that spoiled them.
17 And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring
after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out
of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the
LORD; but they did not so.
18 And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge,
and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the
judge: for it repented the LORD because of their groanings by reason of
them that oppressed them and vexed them.
19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and
corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to
serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings,
nor from their stubborn way.
20 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel; and he said, Because
that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers,
and have not hearkened unto my voice;
21 I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations
which Joshua left when he died:
22 That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way
of the LORD to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.
23 Therefore the LORD left those nations, without driving them out hastily;
neither delivered he them into the hand of Joshua.
Judges 3:5 And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites,
and Amorites, and Perizzites, and Hivites, and Jebusites:
6 And they took their daughters to be their wives, and gave their daughters
to their sons, and served their gods.
7 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgat
the LORD their God, and served Baalim and the groves.
8 Therefore the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them
into the hand of Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children
of Israel served Chushanrishathaim eight years.
Judges 3:12 And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the
LORD: and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because
they had done evil in the sight of the LORD.
13 And he gathered unto him the children of Ammon and Amalek, and went and
smote Israel, and possessed the city of palm trees.
14 So the children of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.
Judges 4:1 And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the
LORD, when Ehud was dead.
2 And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned
in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth
of the Gentiles.
3 And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD: for he had nine hundred
chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of
Israel.
Judges 10:10 And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, saying, We
have sinned against thee, both because we have forsaken our God, and also
served Baalim.
11 And the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Did not I deliver you
from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and
from the Philistines?
12 The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress
you; and ye cried to me, and I delivered you out of their hand.
13 Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver
you no more.
1 Samuel 2:9 He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be
silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail.
10 The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; out of heaven
shall he thunder upon them: the LORD shall judge the ends of the earth;
and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed.
1 Samuel 5:1 And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from
Ebenezer unto Ashdod.
2 When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house
of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.
3 And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen
upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon,
and set him in his place again.
4 And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen
upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of
Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only
the stump of Dagon was left to him.
5 Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon's
house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day.
6 But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed
them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.
7 And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the
God of Israel shall not abide with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and
upon Dagon our god.
8 They sent therefore and gathered all the lords of the Philistines unto
them, and said, What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel? And
they answered, Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried about unto Gath.
And they carried the ark of the God of Israel about thither.
9 And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the
LORD was against the city with a very great destruction: and he smote the
men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods in their secret
parts.
10 Therefore they sent the ark of God to Ekron. And it came to pass, as
the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, They
have brought about the ark of the God of Israel to us, to slay us and our
people.
11 So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines,
and said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to
his own place, that it slay us not, and our people: for there was a deadly
destruction throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.
12 And the men that died not were smitten with the emerods: and the cry
of the city went up to heaven.
1 Samuel 6:19 And he smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked
into the ark of the LORD, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and
threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the LORD had smitten
many of the people with a great slaughter.
20 And the men of Bethshemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy
LORD God? and to whom shall he go up from us?
1 Samuel 15:1 Samuel also said unto Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint thee
to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto
the voice of the words of the LORD.
2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel,
how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.
3 Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare
them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep,
camel and ass.
2 Samuel 22:1 And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the
day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies,
and out of the hand of Saul:
2 And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn
of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me
from violence.
4 I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved
from mine enemies.
5 When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me
afraid;
6 The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented
me;
7 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did
hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.
8 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and
shook, because he was wroth.
9 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured:
coals were kindled by it.
10 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his
feet.
11 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings
of the wind.
12 And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick
clouds of the skies.
13 Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.
14 The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.
15 And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited
them.
16 And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were
discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his
nostrils.
17 He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;
18 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for
they were too strong for me.
19 They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.
20 He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because
he delighted in me.
21 The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the
cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
22 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed
from my God.
23 For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did
not depart from them.
24 I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.
25 Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness;
according to my cleanness in his eye sight.
26 With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright
man thou wilt shew thyself upright.
27 With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou
wilt shew thyself unsavoury.
28 And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the
haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.
29 For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.
30 For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over
a wall.
31 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is
a buckler to all them that trust in him.
32 For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?
33 God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.
34 He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.
35 He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine
arms.
36 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness
hath made me great.
37 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.
38 I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again
until I had consumed them.
39 And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise:
yea, they are fallen under my feet.
40 For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against
me hast thou subdued under me.
41 Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy
them that hate me.
42 They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered
them not.
43 Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them
as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.
44 Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast
kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve
me.
45 Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they
shall be obedient unto me.
46 Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close
places.
47 The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the
rock of my salvation.
48 It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me.
49 And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me
up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from
the violent man.
50 Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and
I will sing praises unto thy name.
51 He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed,
unto David, and to his seed for evermore.
1 Kings 15:29 And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he smote all the
house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had
destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by
his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:
*** Error *** : 1KI 15:30 Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned,
and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the
LORD God of Israel to anger.
1 Kings 15:31 Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, are
they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
32 And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
2 Kings 17:18 Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed
them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
19 Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked
in the statutes of Israel which they made.
20 And the LORD rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and
delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of
his sight.
2 Kings 21:10 And the LORD spake by his servants the prophets, saying,
11 Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath
done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and
hath made Judah also to sin with his idols:
12 Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such
evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears
shall tingle.
13 And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet
of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish,
wiping it, and turning it upside down.
14 And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them
into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil
to all their enemies;
15 Because they have done that which was evil in my sight, and have provoked
me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto
this day.
2 Kings 22:12 And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the
son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Michaiah, and Shaphan the scribe,
and Asahiah a servant of the king's, saying,
13 Go ye, enquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah,
concerning the words of this book that is found: for great is the wrath
of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened
unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written
concerning us.
14 So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah,
went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah,
the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in
the college;) and they communed with her.
15 And she said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Tell the man
that sent you to me,
16 Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon
the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book which the king of
Judah hath read:
17 Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods,
that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore
my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched.
18 But to the king of Judah which sent you to enquire of the LORD, thus
shall ye say to him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, As touching the
words which thou hast heard;
19 Because thine heart was tender, and thou hast humbled thyself before
the LORD, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against
the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse,
and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith
the LORD.
20 Behold therefore, I will gather thee unto thy fathers, and thou shalt
be gathered into thy grave in peace; and thine eyes shall not see all the
evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the king word
again.
2 Kings 24:1 In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim
became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him.
2 And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the
Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon,
and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the
LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets.
3 Surely at the commandment of the LORD came this upon Judah, to remove
them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he
did;
4 And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem
with innocent blood; which the LORD would not pardon.
1 Chronicles 5:23 And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in
the land: they increased from Bashan unto Baalhermon and Senir, and unto
mount Hermon.
24 And these were the heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and
Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty
men of valour, famous men, and heads of the house of their fathers.
25 And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring
after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.
26 And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and
the spirit of Tilgathpilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away,
even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and
brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto
this day.
2 Chronicles 28:1 Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and
he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: but he did not that which was right
in the sight of the LORD, like David his father:
2 For he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made also molten
images for Baalim.
3 Moreover he burnt incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt
his children in the fire, after the abominations of the heathen whom the
LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.
4 He sacrificed also and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills,
and under every green tree.
5 Wherefore the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of
Syria; and they smote him, and carried away a great multitude of them captives,
and brought them to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of
the king of Israel, who smote him with a great slaughter.
6 For Pekah the son of Remaliah slew in Judah an hundred and twenty thousand
in one day, which were all valiant men; because they had forsaken the LORD
God of their fathers.
7 And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, slew Maaseiah the king's son, and
Azrikam the governor of the house, and Elkanah that was next to the king.
8 And the children of Israel carried away captive of their brethren two
hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much spoil
from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria.
2 Chronicles 29:6 For our fathers have trespassed, and done that which was
evil in the eyes of the LORD our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned
away their faces from the habitation of the LORD, and turned their backs.
7 Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps,
and have not burned incense nor offered burnt offerings in the holy place
unto the God of Israel.
8 Wherefore the wrath of the LORD was upon Judah and Jerusalem, and he hath
delivered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing, as ye see with
your eyes.
9 For, lo, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters
and our wives are in captivity for this.
10 Now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with the LORD God of Israel,
that his fierce wrath may turn away from us.
2 Chronicles 30:8 Now be ye not stiffnecked, as your fathers were, but yield
yourselves unto the LORD, and enter into his sanctuary, which he hath sanctified
for ever: and serve the LORD your God, that the fierceness of his wrath
may turn away from you.
2 Chronicles 36:15 And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his
messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on
his people, and on his dwelling place:
16 But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused
his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till
there was no remedy.
17 Therefore he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their
young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion
upon young man or maiden, old man, or him that stooped for age: he gave
them all into his hand.
18 And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures
of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king, and of his princes;
all these he brought to Babylon.
19 And they burnt the house of God, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem,
and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, and destroyed all the goodly
vessels thereof.
20 And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon;
where they were servants to him and his sons until the reign of the kingdom
of Persia:
21 To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land
had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath,
to fulfil threescore and ten years.
Isaiah 65:11 But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy
mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink
offering unto that number.
12 Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to
the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye
did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein
I delighted not.
13 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but
ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty:
behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed:
14 Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for
sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.
15 And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord
GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name:
16 That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the
God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of
truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid
from mine eyes.
Jeremiah 6:11 Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with
holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly
of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken,
the aged with him that is full of days.
12 And their houses shall be turned unto others, with their fields and wives
together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land,
saith the LORD.
13 For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is
given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one
dealeth falsely.
Jeremiah 7:16 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry
nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear
thee.
17 Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets
of Jerusalem?
18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women
knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out
drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
19 Do they provoke me to anger? saith the LORD: do they not provoke themselves
to the confusion of their own faces?
20 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall
be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees
of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall
not be quenched.
21 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings
unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh.
Jeremiah 7:32 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it
shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but
the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no
place.
33 And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven,
and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall fray them away.
34 Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets
of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of
the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.
Jeremiah 8:8 How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with
us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain.
9 The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected
the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?
10 Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them
that shall inherit them: for every one from the least even unto the greatest
is given to covetousness, from the prophet even unto the priest every one
dealeth falsely.
11 For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly,
saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
Jeremiah 9:25 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will punish
all them which are circumcised with the uncircumcised;
26 Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, and the children of Ammon, and Moab, and
all that are in the utmost corners, that dwell in the wilderness: for all
these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised
in the heart.
Jeremiah 10:10 But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an
everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations
shall not be able to abide his indignation.
Jeremiah 10:25 Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and
upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob,
and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.
Jeremiah 11:21 Therefore thus saith the LORD of the men of Anathoth, that
seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the LORD, that thou die
not by our hand:
22 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the
young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die
by famine:
23 And there shall be no remnant of them: for I will bring evil upon the
men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.
Ezekiel 14:12 The word of the LORD came again to me, saying,
13 Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously,
then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the
bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast
from it:
14 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should
deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.
15 If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it,
so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts:
16 Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they
shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered,
but the land shall be desolate.
17 Or if I bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the
land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:
18 Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they
shall deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only shall be delivered
themselves.
19 Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it
in blood, to cut off from it man and beast:
20 Though Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD,
they shall deliver neither son nor daughter; they shall but deliver their
own souls by their righteousness.
21 For thus saith the Lord GOD; How much more when I send my four sore judgments
upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the
pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
Jonah 4:1 But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry.
2 And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this
my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish:
for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and
of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.
Habakkuk 1:1 The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.
2 O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! even cry out unto
thee of violence, and thou wilt not save!
3 Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause me to behold grievance? for
spoiling and violence are before me: and there are that raise up strife
and contention.
4 Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the
wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.
5 Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for
I will work a work in your days which ye will not believe, though it be
told you.
6 For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, which
shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces
that are not theirs.
7 They are terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall
proceed of themselves.
8 Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than
the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their
horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to
eat.
9 They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up as the east
wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.
10 And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be a scorn unto
them: they shall deride every strong hold; for they shall heap dust, and
take it.
11 Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing
this his power unto his god.
12 Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall
not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God,
thou hast established them for correction.
Zechariah 1:1 In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, came the
word of the LORD unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the
prophet, saying,
2 The LORD hath been sore displeased with your fathers.
3 Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto
me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of
hosts.
4 Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying,
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from
your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith the
LORD.
5 Your fathers, where are they? and the prophets, do they live for ever?
6 But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets,
did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like
as the LORD of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according
to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.
7 Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month
Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah,
the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
8 I saw by night, and behold a man riding upon a red horse, and he stood
among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there
red horses, speckled, and white.
9 Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked with
me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be.
10 And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These
are they whom the LORD hath sent to walk to and fro through the earth.
Zechariah 11:4 Thus saith the LORD my God; Feed the flock of the slaughter;
5 Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that
sell them say, Blessed be the LORD; for I am rich: and their own shepherds
pity them not.
6 For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD: but,
lo, I will deliver the men every one into his neighbour's hand, and into
the hand of his king: and they shall smite the land, and out of their hand
I will not deliver them.
7 And I will feed the flock of slaughter, even you, O poor of the flock.
And I took unto me two staves; the one I called Beauty, and the other I
called Bands; and I fed the flock.
8 Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul lothed them,
and their soul also abhorred me.
9 Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die; and that
that is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let the rest eat every one
the flesh of another.
10 And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break
my covenant which I had made with all the people.
11 And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited
upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.
Zechariah 14:1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be
divided in the midst of thee.
2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city
shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half
of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people
shall not be cut off from the city.
3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when
he fought in the day of battle.
4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is
before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the
midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a
very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north,
and half of it toward the south.
5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the
mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from
before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD
my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear,
nor dark:
7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor
night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem;
half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea:
in summer and in winter shall it be.
9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there
be one LORD, and his name one.
10 All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of
Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's
gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the
tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.
11 And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction;
but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people
that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while
they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes,
and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD
shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his
neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.
14 And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen
round about shall be gathered together, gold, and silver, and apparel, in
great abundance.
15 And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and
of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this
plague.
16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations
which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship
the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the
earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them
shall be no rain.
18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain;
there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that
come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations
that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
20 In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO
THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD'S house shall be like the bowls before
the altar.
21 Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD
of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe
therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house
of the LORD of hosts.
Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness
and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and
sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh
in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts
of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were
by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ,
(by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places
in Christ Jesus:
Ephesians 5:3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let
it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient:
but rather giving of thanks.
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous
man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and
of God.
6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh
the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
Colossians 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth;
fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and
covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
Hebrews 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge
of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation,
which shall devour the adversaries.
28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy,
who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of
the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done
despite unto the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense,
saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
