Numbers 10:9 And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth
you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered
before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.
Deuteronomy 3:22 Ye shall not fear them: for the LORD your God he shall
fight for you.
Deuteronomy 20:1 When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and
seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of
them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the
land of Egypt.
2 And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest
shall approach and speak unto the people,
3 And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle
against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble,
neither be ye terrified because of them;
4 For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against
your enemies, to save you.
Deuteronomy 32:9 For the LORD'S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot
of his inheritance.
10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he
led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.
11 As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth
abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings:
12 So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him.
1 Samuel 7:7 And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel
were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against
Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the
Philistines.
8 And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD
our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.
9 And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly
unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard
him.
10 And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew
near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder
on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten
before Israel.
11 And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines,
and smote them, until they came under Bethcar.
12 Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called
the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.
13 So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast
of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the
days of Samuel.
1 Samuel 14:6 And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come,
and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that
the LORD will work for us: for there is no restraint to the LORD to save
by many or by few.
2 Samuel 5:22 And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves
in the valley of Rephaim.
23 And when David enquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up; but
fetch a compass behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry
trees.
24 And let it be, when thou hearest the sound of a going in the tops of
the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then shall
the LORD go out before thee, to smite the host of the Philistines.
25 And David did so, as the LORD had commanded him; and smote the Philistines
from Geba until thou come to Gazer.
2 Samuel 22:1 And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the
day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies,
and out of the hand of Saul:
2 And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn
of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me
from violence.
4 I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved
from mine enemies.
5 When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me
afraid;
6 The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented
me;
7 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did
hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.
8 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and
shook, because he was wroth.
9 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured:
coals were kindled by it.
10 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his
feet.
11 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings
of the wind.
12 And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick
clouds of the skies.
13 Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.
14 The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.
15 And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited
them.
16 And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were
discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his
nostrils.
17 He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;
18 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for
they were too strong for me.
19 They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.
20 He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because
he delighted in me.
21 The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the
cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
22 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed
from my God.
23 For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did
not depart from them.
24 I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.
25 Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness;
according to my cleanness in his eye sight.
26 With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright
man thou wilt shew thyself upright.
27 With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou
wilt shew thyself unsavoury.
28 And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the
haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.
29 For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.
30 For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over
a wall.
31 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is
a buckler to all them that trust in him.
32 For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?
33 God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.
34 He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.
35 He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine
arms.
36 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness
hath made me great.
37 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.
38 I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again
until I had consumed them.
39 And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise:
yea, they are fallen under my feet.
40 For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against
me hast thou subdued under me.
41 Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy
them that hate me.
42 They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered
them not.
43 Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them
as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.
44 Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast
kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve
me.
45 Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they
shall be obedient unto me.
46 Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close
places.
47 The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the
rock of my salvation.
48 It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me.
49 And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me
up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from
the violent man.
50 Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and
I will sing praises unto thy name.
51 He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed,
unto David, and to his seed for evermore.
2 Chronicles 18:30 Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the
chariots that were with him, saying, Fight ye not with small or great, save
only with the king of Israel.
31 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat,
that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they compassed about
him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God
moved them to depart from him.
32 For it came to pass, that, when the captains of the chariots perceived
that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back again from pursuing
him.
2 Chronicles 20:10 And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount
Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the
land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;
11 Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession,
which thou hast given us to inherit.
12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this
great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our
eyes are upon thee.
13 And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives,
and their children.
14 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son
of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the
Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;
15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem,
and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor
dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours,
but God's.
16 To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff
of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness
of Jeruel.
17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still,
and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear
not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be
with you.
18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah
and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.
19 And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children
of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice
on high.
20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness
of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O
Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so
shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto
the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out
before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for
ever.
22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against
the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah;
and they were smitten.
23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of
mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an
end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.
24 And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked
unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth,
and none escaped.
25 And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them,
they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and
precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they
could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it
was so much.
26 And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah;
for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the name of the same place was
called, The valley of Berachah, unto this day.
27 Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat
in the forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the LORD
had made them to rejoice over their enemies.
28 And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto
the house of the LORD.
29 And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when
they had heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.
30 So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest round
about.
2 Chronicles 32:6 And he set captains of war over the people, and gathered
them together to him in the street of the gate of the city, and spake comfortably
to them, saying,
7 Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria,
nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than
with him:
8 With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us,
and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words
of Hezekiah king of Judah.
9 After this did Sennacherib king of Assyria send his servants to Jerusalem,
(but he himself laid siege against Lachish, and all his power with him,)
unto Hezekiah king of Judah, and unto all Judah that were at Jerusalem,
saying,
10 Thus saith Sennacherib king of Assyria, Whereon do ye trust, that ye
abide in the siege in Jerusalem?
11 Doth not Hezekiah persuade you to give over yourselves to die by famine
and by thirst, saying, The LORD our God shall deliver us out of the hand
of the king of Assyria?
12 Hath not the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars,
and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall worship before one altar,
and burn incense upon it?
13 Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the people of other
lands? were the gods of the nations of those lands any ways able to deliver
their lands out of mine hand?
14 Who was there among all the gods of those nations that my fathers utterly
destroyed, that could deliver his people out of mine hand, that your God
should be able to deliver you out of mine hand?
15 Now therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you on this
manner, neither yet believe him: for no god of any nation or kingdom was
able to deliver his people out of mine hand, and out of the hand of my fathers:
how much less shall your God deliver you out of mine hand?
16 And his servants spake yet more against the LORD God, and against his
servant Hezekiah.
17 He wrote also letters to rail on the LORD God of Israel, and to speak
against him, saying, As the gods of the nations of other lands have not
delivered their people out of mine hand, so shall not the God of Hezekiah
deliver his people out of mine hand.
18 Then they cried with a loud voice in the Jews' speech unto the people
of Jerusalem that were on the wall, to affright them, and to trouble them;
that they might take the city.
19 And they spake against the God of Jerusalem, as against the gods of the
people of the earth, which were the work of the hands of man.
20 And for this cause Hezekiah the king, and the prophet Isaiah the son
of Amoz, prayed and cried to heaven.
21 And the LORD sent an angel, which cut off all the mighty men of valour,
and the leaders and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned
with shame of face to his own land. And when he was come into the house
of his god, they that came forth of his own bowels slew him there with the
sword.
Ezra 8:21 Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we
might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us,
and for our little ones, and for all our substance.
22 For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen
to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the
king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him;
but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.
23 So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us.
Job 5:17 Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise
not thou the chastening of the Almighty:
18 For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
19 He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil
touch thee.
20 In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power
of the sword.
21 Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou
be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
22 At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid
of the beasts of the earth.
23 For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts
of the field shall be at peace with thee.
24 And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt
visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.
25 Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring
as the grass of the earth.
26 Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh
in in his season.
27 Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for
thy good.

him as with a shield.

he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into
his ears.
7 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved
and were shaken, because he was wroth.
8 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured:
coals were kindled by it.
9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.
10 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings
of the wind.
11 He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were
dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.
12 At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones
and coals of fire.
13 The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice;
hail stones and coals of fire.
14 Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings,
and discomfited them.
15 Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world
were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy
nostrils.
16 He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.
17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for
they were too strong for me.
18 They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.

he delighted in me.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still
waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for
his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear
no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou
anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and
I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Jeremiah 1:7 But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou

of evil, and destroy them with double destruction.

Acts 26:13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above
the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed
with me.
14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto
me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for
this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things
which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto
thee;
17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now
I send thee,
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from
the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins,
and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
19 Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:
20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout
all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent
and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.
21 For these causes the Jews caught me in the temple, and went about to
kill me.
22 Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing
both to small and great, saying none other things than those which the prophets
and Moses did say should come:
23 That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should
rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.
24 And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul,
thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.
25 But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words
of truth and soberness.
26 For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely:
for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this
thing was not done in a corner.
1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common

that ye may be able to bear it.
2 Corinthians 1:8 For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble
which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength,
insomuch that we despaired even of life:
9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust
in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:
10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we
trust that he will yet deliver us;

is at hand.
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the
faith:
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the
Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only,
but unto all them also that love his appearing.
9 Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me:
10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed
unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.
11 Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable
to me for the ministry.
12 And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus.
13 The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with
thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.
14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according
to his works:
