Proverbs 27:20 Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are
never satisfied.
Proverbs 28:25 He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that
putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.
Ecclesiastes 5:10 He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver;
nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.
11 When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good
is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their
eyes?
12 The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much:
but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.
13 There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches
kept for the owners thereof to their hurt.
14 But those riches perish by evil travail: and he begetteth a son, and
there is nothing in his hand.
15 As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as
he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in
his hand.
16 And this also is a sore evil, that in all points as he came, so shall
he go: and what profit hath he that hath laboured for the wind?
Jeremiah 22:14 That saith, I will build me a wide house and large chambers,
and cutteth him out windows; and it is cieled with cedar, and painted with
vermilion.
15 Shalt thou reign, because thou closest thyself in cedar? did not thy
father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it was well
with him?
16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well with him:
was not this to know me? saith the LORD.
17 But thine eyes and thine heart are not but for thy covetousness, and
for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do
it.
Ephesians 5:3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let
it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient:
but rather giving of thanks.
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous
man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and
of God.
6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh
the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
Colossians 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth;
fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and
covetousness, which is idolatry:
