Deuteronomy 9:5 Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine
heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these
nations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that
he may perform the word which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, Abraham,
Isaac, and Jacob.
6 Understand therefore, that the LORD thy God giveth thee not this good
land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people.
Nehemiah 1:8 Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandedst thy
servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among
the nations:
9 But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though
there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will
I gather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have
chosen to set my name there.
Isaiah 6:9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand
not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut
their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and
understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
Isaiah 43:18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things
of old.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not
know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
20 The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because
I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink
to my people, my chosen.
21 This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.
22 But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of
me, O Israel.
23 Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither
hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve
with an offering, nor wearied thee with incense.
24 Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled
me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy
sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.
25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake,
and will not remember thy sins.
Isaiah 44:21 Remember these, O Jacob and Israel; for thou art my servant:
I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten
of me.
22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud,
thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.
Jeremiah 24:8 And as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil;
surely thus saith the LORD, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and
his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and
them that dwell in the land of Egypt:
9 And I will deliver them to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth
for their hurt, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in
all places whither I shall drive them.
10 And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them,
till they be consumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their
fathers.
Matthew 27:25 Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us,
and on our children.
Luke 3:7 Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of
him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath
to come?
8 Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say
within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That
God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
9 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore
which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Acts 3:22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord
your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye
hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that
prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
Acts 26:17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto
whom now I send thee,
18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from
the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins,
and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
Acts 28:25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after
that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet
unto our fathers,
26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall
not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull
of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their
eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should
be converted, and I should heal them.
28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto
the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
29 And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning
among themselves.
30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all
that came in unto him,
31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern
the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
Romans 2:17 Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest
thy boast of God,
18 And knowest his will, and approvest the things that are more excellent,
being instructed out of the law;
19 And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light
of them which are in darkness,
20 An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form
of knowledge and of the truth in the law.
21 Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou
that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal?
22 Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery?
thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?
23 Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest
thou God?
24 For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as
it is written.
25 For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: but if thou
be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision.
26 Therefore if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall
not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law,
judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?
28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision,
which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the
heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men,
but of God.
Romans 3:1 What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of
circumcision?
2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles
of God.
Romans 3:8 And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some
affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation
is just.
9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before
proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
Romans 9:32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were
by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
Romans 10:1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is,
that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according
to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish
their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness
of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man
which doeth those things shall live by them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not
in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ
down from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again
from the dead.)
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy
heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth
confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same
Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how
shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they
hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How
beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring
glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who
hath believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all
the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
19 But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you
to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger
you.
20 But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me
not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
21 But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands
unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
Romans 11:1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I
also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the
scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel
saying,
3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and
I am left alone, and they seek my life.
4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven
thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.
5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to
the election of grace.
6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more
grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is
no more work.
7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the
election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.
8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber,
eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto
this day.
9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock,
and a recompence unto them:
10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their
back alway.
11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but
rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke
them to jealousy.
12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing
of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
Romans 11:15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world,
what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this
mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in
part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come
out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching
the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
2 Corinthians 3:12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness
of speech:
13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of
Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail
untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away
in Christ.
15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken
away.
17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there
is liberty.
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord,
are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit
of the Lord.
1 Peter 2:4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of
men, but chosen of God, and precious,
5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood,
to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion
a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall
not be confounded.
7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be
disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the
head of the corner,
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble
at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
