1 Samuel 24:12 The LORD judge between me and thee, and the LORD avenge me
of thee: but mine hand shall not be upon thee.
13 As saith the proverb of the ancients, Wickedness proceedeth from the
wicked: but mine hand shall not be upon thee.
14 After whom is the king of Israel come out? after whom dost thou pursue?
after a dead dog, after a flea.
15 The LORD therefore be judge, and judge between me and thee, and see,
and plead my cause, and deliver me out of thine hand.
16 And it came to pass, when David had made an end of speaking these words
unto Saul, that Saul said, Is this thy voice, my son David? And Saul lifted
up his voice, and wept.
17 And he said to David, Thou art more righteous than I: for thou hast rewarded
me good, whereas I have rewarded thee evil.
18 And thou hast shewed this day how that thou hast dealt well with me:
forasmuch as when the LORD had delivered me into thine hand, thou killedst
me not.
19 For if a man find his enemy, will he let him go well away? wherefore
the LORD reward thee good for that thou hast done unto me this day.
1 Samuel 25:23 And when Abigail saw David, she hasted, and lighted off the
ass, and fell before David on her face, and bowed herself to the ground,
24 And fell at his feet, and said, Upon me, my lord, upon me let this iniquity
be: and let thine handmaid, I pray thee, speak in thine audience, and hear
the words of thine handmaid.
2 Samuel 22:21 The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according
to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
22 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed
from my God.
23 For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did
not depart from them.
24 I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.
25 Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness;
according to my cleanness in his eye sight.
26 With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright
man thou wilt shew thyself upright.
27 With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou
wilt shew thyself unsavoury.
28 And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the
haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.
29 For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.
30 For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over
a wall.
31 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is
a buckler to all them that trust in him.
1 Kings 8:31 If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be laid
upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine altar in
this house:
32 Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning
the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous,
to give him according to his righteousness.
Proverbs 1:33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall
be quiet from fear of evil.
Proverbs 2:1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments
with thee;
2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
Proverbs 11:27 He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he
that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.
Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal
truly are his delight.
Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to
any people.
Proverbs 16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of
the LORD men depart from evil.
7 When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at
peace with him.
Proverbs 17:13 Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from
his house.
Proverbs 21:3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD
than sacrifice.
Proverbs 28:4 They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep
the law contend with them.
Proverbs 29:27 An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that
is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.
Ecclesiastes 8:5 Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing:
and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment.
Jeremiah 17:7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope
the LORD is.
8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out
her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf
shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither
shall cease from yielding fruit.
Jeremiah 18:7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning
a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;
8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil,
I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
9 And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning
a kingdom, to build and to plant it;
10 If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent
of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.
Ezekiel 3:18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou
givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked
way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but
his blood will I require at thine hand.
19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor
from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered
thy soul.
20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit
iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou
hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness
which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require
at thine hand.
21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not,
and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou
hast delivered thy soul.
Ezekiel 21:3 And say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD; Behold,
I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will
cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.
4 Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked,
therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from
the south to the north:
5 That all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out
of his sheath: it shall not return any more.
Hosea 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up
your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain
righteousness upon you.
Zechariah 3:4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him,
saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold,
I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with
change of raiment.
5 And I said, Let them set a fair mitre upon his head. So they set a fair
mitre upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the angel of the
LORD stood by.
6 And the angel of the LORD protested unto Joshua, saying,
7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou
wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also
keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand
by.
Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they
shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Matthew 10:20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father
which speaketh in you.
Mark 7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of
you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips,
but their heart is far from me.
7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments
of men.
Luke 7:40 And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say
unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.
41 There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five
hundred pence, and the other fifty.
42 And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell
me therefore, which of them will love him most?
43 Simon answered and said, I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most.
And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
44 And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman?
I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she
hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head.
45 Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath
not ceased to kiss my feet.
46 My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed
my feet with ointment.
47 Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for
she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
48 And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
49 And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves, Who
is this that forgiveth sins also?
50 And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.
Luke 14:34 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith
shall it be seasoned?
35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast
it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.
2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch
that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
Romans 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto
whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins
are covered.
8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
9 Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision
also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.
10 How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision?
Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.
11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness
of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the
father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness
might be imputed unto them also:
12 And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision
only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham,
which he had being yet uncircumcised.
13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to
Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness
of faith.
Romans 11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them
which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his
goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the
Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple
of God is holy, which temple ye are.
2 Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us
cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting
holiness in the fear of God.
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections
and lusts.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying
one another.
Ephesians 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the
Lord: walk as children of light:
9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and
truth;)
10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather
reprove them.
12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them
in secret.
13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for
whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead,
and Christ shall give thee light.
15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord
is.
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the
Spirit;
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing
and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name
of our Lord Jesus Christ;
21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power
of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against
the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able
to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having
on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to
quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which
is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching
thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Philippians 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency
of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss
of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the
law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which
is of God by faith:
1 Timothy 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after
righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou
art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and
before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;
14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the
appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:
15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate,
the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach
unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting.
Amen.
17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded,
nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly
all things to enjoy;
18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute,
willing to communicate;
19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time
to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane
and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with
thee. Amen.
2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having
this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth
the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver,
but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto
honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every
good work.
22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace,
with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
2 Timothy 3:14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and
hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are
able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good
works.
Titus 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity,
in patience.
3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness,
not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands,
to love their children,
5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands,
that the word of God be not blasphemed.
6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing
uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary
part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them
well in all things; not answering again;
10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the
doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live
soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Hebrews 5:11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered,
seeing ye are dull of hearing.
12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one
teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and
are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness:
for he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who
by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable,
gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without
partiality, and without hypocrisy.
18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to
him it is sin.
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another,
that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth
much.
1 Peter 3:10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain
his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
12 For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open
unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
13 And who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is
good?
14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not
afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give
an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you
with meekness and fear:
16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of
evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation
in Christ.
17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing,
than for evil doing.
2 Peter 2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world
through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again
entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than
the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness,
than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered
unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is
turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing
in the mire.
1 John 2:29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that
doeth righteousness is born of him.
1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness
is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the
beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might
destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in
him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil:
whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth
not his brother.
11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should
love one another.
12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore
slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.
